Ofelia Legaspi is a freelance journalist, a web editorial assistant at the Toronto Star and a social media strategist / travel writer for a Canadian travel site, Vacay.ca. In the past, she served as the executive editor of a nationally-sold literary magazine, Existere — Journal of Arts and Literature, an editorial intern for a Toronto alternative magazine, Eye Weekly (now The Grid) and the features and opinions editor of Excalibur, York University’s community newspaper. One summer, she did a brief stint as Excalibur‘s interim copy editor (editing the sports articles was fun…).
Biggest delusion: That she can watch 365 movies in 365 days and blog about it
Biggest fear/dream she wishes is not delusional: Being a war / foreign correspondent
Craziest when: Insisting on learning Arabic; jumping off a cliff into the pitch-black Ottawa River as a non-swimmer; attempting to eat chick embryo (balut — a Filipino delicacy) in the Philippines and committing it to film; trusting herself to cut her bangs
Happiest when: Writing, travelling, absorbed in a movie / book, indulging in Asian cuisine (Filipino, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Sri Lankan, Chinese, Korean & Vietnamese), floating in the Ottawa River, on a road trip in the fall
Loves: Turkey (Istanbul; Cappadocia), Oman (Muscat), the Philippines (Baguio; Manila; Taal volcano), Cuba (Trinidad), New York City, Canada (Trois Pistoles, Quebec; Toronto)
Bets she would love: Mecca, El Nido, Petra, Beirut, Fez, Zanzibar, Goa, Machu Picchu, Prague, anywhere in Brazil, Angkor Wat and Kauai
Would not return her affection: Charlie Kaufman, Andre Dupuis
Leaves her breathless: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Another Earth, Grizzly Man, Departures, Vice Guide to Travel, The Fountainhead
Can: Speak Tagalog and is currently learning Arabic; handle her spicy food; watch Gilmore Girls and Damages over and over again.
Can’t: Watch sports, read about sports, write about sports; be separated from her camera when travelling

Ah, just ones that say Alliance Cinemas, AMC or Cineplex, haha!
Forest was extremely nice. We both watched Darjeeling Ltd. that day and he told me it was weird, but good. He and I have the same taste in movies. We’re a match made in heaven.
Is there a specific monogrammed hat you’re talking about?
Awesome photo of Forest! I love seeing him in movies.
